two fringe festival plays

somehow, i'm still not quite clear on the details, some friends convinced me to work on two Capital Fringe Festival Shows.
here are the details:

"Pepe! The Mail Order Monkey Musical" is a 50-minute Broadway-style musical based on an infamous true tale told by renowned glass artist Tim Tate -- in the spring of 1968, two young brothers test suburban conventions when they order a live monkey from an ad they saw in a comic book.

TICKETS, information on the show, video and photos of rehearsal -- and soon -- a song clip -- are available online at

Dates for performanes are:

-- Wednesday July 15 @ 9:30pm (special guest TV legend, Dick Dyszel)
-- Saturday July 18 @ 5:30pm (special guest Dick Dyszel)
-- Wednesday July 22 @ 5:45pm (special guest story originator, Tim Tate)
-- Friday July 24 @ 10:30pm (special guest Top Chef, Carla Hall)
-- Saturday July 25 @ 8:00pm (special guest Tim Tate)

Tickets are only $15 each.
All ticket holders for the Capital Fringe Festival are required to show the door usher a "Fringe Button." The money raised from the sales of the $5 buttons are given directly back to the artists. Wearing the button throughout the year gets you discounts are various restaurants, shops and theaters. These buttons are available for sale at the Fringe Box Office at 601 New York Avenue, NW.

Performances are at a venue called "The Mount" -- the Mount Vernon United Methodist Church at 900 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington DC 20001
The church is located at the corners of 9th Street, Massachusetts Avenue and K Street, NW, and is 3 blocks north of Gallery Place Metro. There is street parking, and the old convention center parking lot is a block away.
