We had so much fun flowing this July, we are back at it again.

Otis Street Arts Project and Bluebird Sky Yoga are teaming up to bring you a yoga class on Thursday, September 8. Come join us for a 60-minute all-levels flow, set to the sounds of a live DJ. Flow amidst art from Otis Street Art Projects resident artists, and spend time exploring their creative works after class.

Gateway Arts District Open Studio Tour on Saturday May 14th Noon-5:00

Gateway Community Development Corporation welcomes you to the 12th Annual Gateway Open Studio Tour in the Prince George's County Gateway Arts District, home to one of the DC metro area's most innovative and creative artist communities. On Saturday, May 14th, 2016, from 12-5 p.m., Gateway Arts District artists, studios and galleries will open their doors to the public.   My studio Otis Street Arts Project is excited to be participating. I'll have some new pieces, some works in progress, some old works.  Plenty for you to buy. Two of our Artists will be demonstrating aspects of their studio process 1:00 Jenna North will be doing a demo of painting on water. 2:00 Hebron Chism will be showing his carving techniques. In addition to being able to see the work of our resident artists, we'll have the fantastic Plastic Sky playing her lyrical ambient dreamscape music for you. From 5-8pm, the Gateway Arts Center will host an After Party and an Opening Reception at the 39th Street Gallery. Gateway Open Studio Tours and Otis Street Arts Project Grand Opening.

The Gateway Arts District organizes tours of all the Artist studios in Mount Rainier, Brentwood and Hyattsville, Maryland every spring. It's a great time to see tons of amazing art, meet up with friends, and enjoy the area's artists in their natural habitat. This Saturday, May 9th is the day.

For the past 9 years, I have been participating in the open studios with my former digs at the Washington Glass School. It's my first Spring Open Studios at my new space, The Otis Street Arts Project. As such, we'll be staying open a little later than the other studios for our Grand Opening Party. 
After the open studio tours, we'll dim the lights, relax, and listen to DJ NEW spinning some tracks. Help us bring good luck and energy to our endeavor. If you're an artist, we still have space available to rent. If you are a curator, we'd love to talk to you about putting on shows with us. If you've got ideas, share them with us.




The first thing you want to do:
Visit the Gateway Arts District page and get a map
There will also be maps available at participating studios.

Then come out and enjoy the DC area's largest concentration of artists.

Visit the Brentwood Arts Center, the EZ Storage studios, Alan Binstok's Studio, and ArtBar.
Get a coffee at Vigilante or the Waterhole. Grab a vegan snack at Sweet and Natural, or have lunch at Franklins or Busboys and Poets.

But be sure to come visit us in the Artists by the Tracks section, where you will find:

Getting to OSAP

1. Drive. We have parking. We're 2 blocks from the intersection of Rhode Island Avenue NE and Eastern Avenue.

2. UberX and Lyft. get the app, add your credit card. It's probably the easiest way.

3. Car2go - Its possible to Car2go within a few blocks. We're a short walk from the DC line

4. Metrobus. Use the Wmata Trip Planner. Enter Mount Rainier Library as your destination. We're a 7 minute walk from there.

This coming saturday from noon to 6 is the annual spring gateway arts district open studio tour.
The Gateway Arts District is centered on the Rhode Island Avenue Corridor of the towns of North Brentwood, Brentwood, and Mount Rainier in Prince George's County Maryland.
It is hub of artistic activity and production for Washington, DC.

The Gateway Arts District is home to the Washington Glass School and its our 9th anniversary!

Whats been going on?

I havent posted that much lately, but i don't really have a good excuse as to why.

-Artomatic is now over and was a fairly busy event for me. In addition to exhibiting and being there for as many events as i could, i also organized an artists market to set up for three sundays. AOM is an extemely rewarding experience and i would encourage all artists to participate in it when it comes around again.

-I had two weekend workshops that i've recently taught and were quite succesful.


-Rania and i set up at a craft show in baltimore.

-We're doing the Ballston Arts and crafts Market this saturday in Ballston, VA.

-Pile of Craft in Baltimore at the end of the month.

-i've been posting a bunch of art on my etsy.com gallery. look at my amazing feedback!

- I've moved out of my studio in mount rainier and am currently working out of my house.

- I have a show at Black Rock arts center coming up.
August15- September 7th, with an artists reception on August 18th.

Mold Making/ Concrete and Fiberglass Casting

Need a great industrial material to compliment your glass? Try Concrete! Want to learn how to make strong yet lightweight castings? Forton MG, a non-toxic type of fiberglass! In this class we will explore possibilities in flexible mold-making, concrete and fiberglass casting. We will make tiles, proper rubber molds, and play with concrete and fiberglass. You will walk away with a few finished pieces and the knowledge to tackle larger scale work. This is a terrific and easy beginners two-day workshop.
