wanna know what i think? it's all been done before. and anyone who tells you he or she is doing something that's never been done is either really ignorant, or lying.

you have to create something that moves you, or create something because you are moved. that's where the spirit of art lives.

appropriation? bah.

I have no idea what the technical argument is. But as a lay person, I say that I've seen enough of your work to know that light bulbs inspire you, and you use them in a wide variety of ways. And that's all your original creative expression.

So there.

not that I think you did, but what would it matter? artists are always gaining inspiration from other artists. that's how movements are born.

My thought is that all artist steal . . . our world is full of images and artists get excited about images . . . warhol would be one of the biggest and BEST stealers of all! I love your work AND I love Jasper's work. Poop to whoever thinks you should stop doing what you are doing!! Best, Ellen
